Payments may be made at the campus Administrative Services Office, in the campus drop box, via PRISM, or through the mail. All new and continuing students are required to make a $100 Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD), each fall and spring semester, prior to registration. PRISM will not allow you to register until you pay the $100. ATD. (After payment it may take the system a few hours before you can actually register.) You may pay your ATD by cash, check or money order in the Administrative Services Office. The ATD is not required of students that are high school specials, auditing, specials, youth option and other non-degree seeking categories. However, if the above mentioned students withdraw after July 1 (for the fall term) or after December 1 (for the spring term), they will be charged a $100 withdrawal fee.
The ATD is not a fee, but an advance payment applied to your tuition. It is refundable if you withdraw from classes prior to July 1 (for the fall term) or prior to December 1 (for the spring term). If you withdraw on or after those dates, you forfeit your $100 ATD.
Registration for classes creates a financial commitment and liability. If you want to withdraw from school you must officially withdraw by contacting the Student Services Office or you will owe full tuition and fees. The balance of fees owed must be paid at the time of registration or before the end of the second week of classes. A $100 late payment fee will be assessed for failure to: pay the balance by the due date, or to enroll in the payment plan, or to receive a financial aid deferment by the due date.
Total fees are due no later than the end of the second week of classes. No invoices will be sent. Students may view their accounts online through PRISM. Payment by credit card or Web Check may be made via PRISM. This site may not be available 24 hours a day so please note the hours of the system’s availability for making timely payments. Payment by check or cash may be made in the Administrative Services Office, during business hours or by mail. Checks should be made payable to UW-Manitowoc, 705 Viebahn Street, Manitowoc WI 54220.
You may pay your fees in full or sign-up for the partial payment plan in the Administrative Services Office. The payment plan is available for students taking three or more credits. An enrollment fee of $10.00 is charged for the plan and requires a minimum down payment of $200.
Students who are already approved for financial aid or whose tuition is paid by a third party sponsor are eligible to receive a fee deferment. Contact the Administrative Services Office if you feel you qualify for a fee deferment.
If you do not attend the first or second meeting of a CLASS and haven’t contacted your instructor by email, phone or mail, you will be DROPPED from the course. If you miss the first or second meetings of ALL of your classes, you will be WITHDRAWN from UW-Manitowoc and will forfeit your $100 Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD).
The installment credit agreement is a contract with the University. It is a legal document and therefore, you must be 18 years old at the time of the signing. Proof of birth is required; a driver's license, birth certificate or other legal document showing birth date is needed. If a student is not 18 years or older, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign the document. If a student is 18 years or older, the student must sign the contract, the parent may not sign for the student.
The Installment Credit Agreement must be made in person at the Administrative Services Office by the end of the second week of classes. There is a down payment of $200 (includes a non-refundable $10 enrollment charge) payable when you sign the agreement. The remaining balance is divided into two equal payments. There is a late installment fee of $25 for each payment that is late. There is no grace period. Interest is charged at 1.25% per month on the outstanding balance after the last installment payment is due. Withdrawing from the university does not eliminate your legal financial obligation to pay the remaining installments.
Failure to pay your tuition in full or sign up for the installment credit agreement by the end of the second week of class will result in automatic withdrawal from the university. Reinstatement involves substantial reinstatement and late fees.
if payment in full is not made by the due date for each semester (the end of the second week of classes), the $100 ATD will be forfeited. If the ATD was not made, a $100 late fee will be assessed.
The academic fee charged for individuals who register for ONLY non-credit, audit credits is as follows:

Under age 60 - $53 (30% of normal per credit tuition) |
|
Minnesota Reciprocity |

Many area employers provide support for employees, and sometimes their family members, to attend college through tuition support, or tuition reimbursement programs. Although such programs vary from employer to employer, they include provisions for partial or full reimbursement for tuition and/or supplies after a degree credit course has been completed. Verification of enrollment and an official grade report are generally required.
Students are encouraged to check with their human resources department regarding any tuition support programs that may be available.
