Transferred to UW-Stevens Point, Intended major – Philosophy
I learned so much at UW-Manitowoc! My relationships with professors have sparked my passion for learning. I was able to participate in undergraduate research on campus – something I would have never expected at a two-year campus. It showed me that I can do things I never thought imaginable and I made lifelong friends with professors who love what they do.
Transferred to UW-Eau Claire, Intended major – Nursing
I never thought that a small campus would be able to offer such a great college experience, but I loved every minute of it. Attending UW-Manitowoc gave me a chance to save money and be closer to my family and still get the education I dreamed of. The campus is small but it has so much to offer students such as clubs, undergraduate research, work study, trips, and so much more. I really got my money out of this campus.
Transferred to UW-Madison, Intended major – Chemistry
I was lucky enough to participate in a research project with a professor, and I was surprised that UW-Manitowoc, being a small campus, was able to receive enough funding to conduct research. I honestly never imagined that I would end up presenting research at a national conference. It was an experience that I will never forget. It has made me more confident in my chemistry skills and knowledge, as well as taught me to work hard in an independent environment. The research has paved the way for my future and that is all I had hoped for and more.
Intended major – communications and management
Attending UW-Manitowoc was an easy choice for me, because I had easy access to continue my career without having to disrupt my children's lives. It's a great place for a returning adult student, like myself who wants to continue with their goals, or for the student coming right out of high school or transferring from another college. Every student can be part of a group, an organization, or just enjoy being themselves. I've enjoyed so much about this campus and would encourage anyone searching to check out their options here.
Intended major – English, Teaching, Intended Transfer Campus – UW-Madison
Best choice for my future! Seriously. No debt, time to think about my goals and plan my life, great opportunities in extracurricular activities, plus I'm able to keep helping out at my old high school and church.
Transferred to UW-Green Bay, Intended major – Early Childhood Education
I chose UW-Manitowoc for several reasons: first, one of my friends attended the school and had great things to say about it; second, it was close to home, and third, for financial reasons. I'm very happy with my decision. I love the campus and the people around the school. There are far fewer students here than at four-year schools. As a result, the classes are smaller, and you are able to build good relationships with the professors.
Now attending Florence Academy of Art, Florence Italy
Knowing professors on a first name basis, and them knowing you is a very good thing. I've enjoyed getting to know them and not feeling like I'm just a number in a big lecture hall like at some big campuses.
AAS, UW-Manitowoc, 2006
BSN, Nursing, Marian College, 2008
Occupation – RN in Step–down ICU, Children's Medical Center, Dallas, Texas
I started taking classes at UW-Manitowoc my senior year in high school. I fell in love with the professors and decided to stay. The one-on-one relationships I had with faculty helped me succeed in college and as a nurse today. Transferring was extremely easy, my general education requirements were met, and I could focus solely on my nursing classes. Starting at UW-Manitowoc was one of the best, smartest decisions I've ever made!
