Summer school registration will begin online, in person, or by mail on Thursday, March 1, 2012. If you are registering online you will need a password and ID number to enter PRISM, the UW Colleges online registration site. After you have been admitted to UW-Manitowoc an ID number and password will be available to you at the web site, help.uwc.edu/account. If you have trouble accessing this please call the UW-Manitowoc Student Services Office at 683-4706. Those registering in person may do so weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Student Services Office. Registration forms can also be completed, signed and returned by mail.
NOTE: The University reserves the right to close a class when enrollment reaches capacity or to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Enrollment in summer session is open to all persons who have completed at least their junior year of high school. If you are attending UW-Manitowoc for the summer session but not the fall 2012 semester, you should apply for admission as a “special student.” If you plan to attend UW-Manitowoc for both the summer session and the fall 2012 semester you need to apply as a “regular student” before registering for summer classes. You may apply to UW-Manitowoc online at uwhelp.wisconsin.edu or you may pick up an application form in the Student Services Office or call 683-4707.
To discuss your summer session course selections with a UW-Manitowoc counselor, please make an appointment before you complete registration. You can review your course preferences by consulting the appropriate four-year college catalog in the Student Services Office or by accessing the Transfer Information System (TIS) at www.uwsa.edu/tis. If you are enrolled at another campus now, you are urged to consult an admission counselor or advisor at your college to determine which particular course(s) will fit your degree and major requirements. If you wish to have a summer session transcript sent to one or more schools, please ask for a Transcript Request Form when you register. There will be a $6 fee for each transcript requested. Transcripts will be mailed to all schools you designate. No transcripts will be furnished, however, until all accounts receivable have been paid.
Financial aid during the summer session is usually limited to the Stafford Student Loan. However, some Pell Grant funds are available to those who qualify and who have eligibility remaining within the 2011-12 financial aid year. For financial aid purposes, summer session is considered the “third term” of the 2011-12 academic year. If you attend another campus and are enrolling at UW-Manitowoc just for the summer, contact your Financial Aid Office to discuss the possibility of a Consortium Agreement for summer financial aid. It is also requested that you have a completed admissions application submitted to the appropriate Student Services Office. Financial aid will only be available to students enrolled in at least 6 credits. If you are to receive financial aid and require a fee deferment, arrangements must be made prior to the end of the first week of classes with the UW-Manitowoc Administrative Services Office.
